LandedAberdeen
For parents

Ensure your child's comfort from day one.

Landed puts bedding, kitchen basics and a winter kit in your child's Aberdeen halls room before they check in. Their first night is a made bed and a cup of tea, not a bus to a retail park in the dark with a suitcase.

What they get

The arrival kit is everything for the first night and the first week: a 10.5 tog duvet and cover, two pillows, a fitted sheet and mattress protector, towels, plates, bowls, mugs, cutlery, a frying pan and saucepan, a kettle, a chopping board and knife, a UK adaptor and extension lead, a laundry bag and tea towels. It is in the room, or waiting at reception under their name, before they check in.

The winter kit follows in October, when Aberdeen turns dark and cold: a hot water bottle, a thermal base layer, wool socks, a beanie, three months of Vitamin D, a blackout eye mask and some local tea.

What it costs

The arrival kit is £95, the winter kit £45, both together £125. Buying the same things in town costs about £140 plus an afternoon, the bus fare and carrying it all back. Delivery to the room is included; there is nothing to add at checkout.

How paying works

£20 now, by card, from anywhere

The deposit is paid on a secure Stripe page; we never see the card number. You can pay it yourself from the link in the confirmation email or the message your student sends you.

The rest once the box is in the room

The balance is paid on delivery day, by card or cash at the door, or online through the link in the emails. Nobody pays in full for something they have not seen.

Cancel free up to 14 days before

If plans change, cancel up to 14 days before the check-in date and the £20 is refunded in full to the card it came from.

Our guarantee

If the box is not there when they arrive, the first night is on us: we bring it as soon as reception opens and refund the deposit. If you would rather not wait, cancel for a full refund.

Who we are

Landed is a small business in Aberdeen, Scotland, run by students at the University of Aberdeen and Robert Gordon University who arrived the same way. Every order has a written reference, a confirmation email and a receipt; our terms are governed by Scots law and your rights under UK consumer law apply. You can reach a person on WhatsApp or by email, and we answer ourselves.

Safety and privacy

We confirm the building and room with the student on WhatsApp the week before delivery. Halls reception only ever sees the name on the box. We keep the details needed to deliver and invoice, send no marketing, and never sell or share personal data. There are no tracking cookies on this site.
